Cyber Monday 2009 Deals
Posted on Sunday 29 November 2009 by Kina
The internet companion to Black Friday, known as Cyber Monday is in full swing, with online retailers offering deep discounts. Amazon.com, zappos.com, bestbuy.com, tigerdirect.com and dell.com have some of the most competitive prices those sites have ever offered. What's interesting is retailers often focus their marketing money on Black Friday, but this year, many have run ad campaigns for the last two weeks about Cyber Monday, with Amazon offering record deals in order to attract consumers in this difficult economy.
The electronics sector is expected to be particularly competitive this year, as orders for high tech items like HD TV's and video game systems like Playstation 3 and XBOX 360 are way down this year compared to last. The decrease in consumer spending has forced the online retailers into huge discounts. Best Buy even set up a toll free number for customers to call for the chance to win one of a thousand $500.00 gift cards. Nee

The decrease in consumer spending has forced the online retailers into huge discounts. Best Buy even set up a toll free number for customers to call for the chance to win one of a thousand $500.00 gift cards. Needless to say, the line was quickly jammed, and was shut down immediately after all of the gift cards were given away.
Emerging online giants like Tiger Direct are offering huge discounts, and free shipping, sometimes even free overnight shipping on most items. Best Buy announced record discounts on almost all of its inventory, and even office supply giant Staples has gotten into the Cyber Monday deal making with huge discounts on electronics in the hopes of siphoning business from more traditional consumer electronics outlets like Best Buy.
Tough economic times always bring great deals for consumers, and the retailers are hoping that by offering deep discounts that consumers who have kept their wallets closed all year will respond. One problem shoppers are likely to encounter are sites that don't operate as fast as usual on Monday as customers flood them in order to make purchases. WalMart and KMART also are getting into the online fray this year, offering discounts on many of their respective online inventories.
